The developer of the ingenious SandDevil asked ìWhy not use sanding belts for hand sanding,î and the SandDevil was born.

His work requires intricate hand sanding to reduce rough cuts made by large chisels and rasping tools. Heís found that standard one-piece sanding blocks provide less than satisfactory results.

After repeatedly changing worn and torn sandpaper on a sanding block, he thought, ìthere has to be a better way.î  Since his work sometimes requires the use of an electric sander, he knew that sanding belts were more durable, lasting much longer than sheet sandpaper.  He has found that belts usually last for months, whereas sandpaper will rip or wear out in fifteen minutes.

He combined the belt form from an electric sander with a hand-held tool and developed a hand sander thatís become an essential toolbox component.  ìIíve found that standard 3î x 21î fabric-backed sanding belts are the way to go.
